Here is a guide/video that shows you how to install the Oxygen cursor theme.

To install the Oxygen mouse cursor theme open a Terminal window and copy+paste the following line:

When installed you can change the mouse cursor (pointer) by opening your Appearance Preferences manager (System -> Preferences -> Appearance) and select the Theme tab. You can remove them by going to usr/share/icons and in that folder you’ll find some folders starting with oxy- To remove the folders you need to be root.
To remove them all in one time time type:

      sudo apt-get remove oxygen-cursor-theme oxygen-cursor-theme-extra

      in your Terminal window
