Install Nevernote On Ubuntu 10.10 “Maverick Meerkat”

Nevernote is a suite of software and services designed for notetaking and archiving. A “note” can be a piece of formattable text, a full webpage or webpage excerpt, a photograph, a voice memo, or a handwritten “ink” note. Notes can also have file attachments. Notes can then be sorted into folders, tagged, annotated, edited, given comments, and searched.

This is an open source clone of Evernote. This program has been run on Linux, Windows, and OS-X, but the primary goal is to proved a Linux client. While this is designed to work with Evernote, it is in no way connected with or supported by Evernote.

First you need to create an account at the Evernote website so you can save all your notes  to your online account. When Nevernote is installed and started you can add your account name and password and click on the synchronize button and all your online notes will be added to Evernote on the system you are working on.

To install Nevernote open a Terminal window (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal) and copy+paste the following lines:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vincent-c/nevernote
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nevernote

When installled you can find Nevernote under Applications -> Internet -> Nevernote
