Install Guide: XChat IRC On Ubuntu 11.04

XChat is an IRC chat program for both Linux and Windows. It allows you to join multiple IRC channels (chat rooms) at the same time, talk publicly, private one-on-one conversations etc. Even file transfers are possible.




To install XChat follow these steps.

Click on the Ubuntu Software Center launcher
Select the search field and type: xchat
Click on the search result
Click on the Install button
Fill in your password and click on the Authenticate button
When installed you can close the Ubuntu Software Center
To start XChat press Alt+F2 and type: xchat

There are two add-ons you can install, to install them click on the More Info button and mark the add-ons. When done click on the Install button to install XChat and the add-ons.
