    That’s nice but I am still getting purple background after entering a pass? Any ideas?

      Sorry for the late reply but making changes to login and plymouth themes can slow down the login/loading process or sometimes break things and cause a slow starting system.

        in the beginning it looks like it doesn’t add the right key and at the end it says that you can install programs because the dpkg process is being used by another program (do you have the software center or synaptic package manager open while installing?).

    i changed the plymouth theme through the script but now my ubuntu 10.10 is not starting.. plz help.

    What script you mean? This article doesn’t include a script.

    I am not sure what causes the error do you get any error messages?
